Secure Facility Build-Out Consulting
How We Can Help You Build Out a Secure Facility
Initial Floor Plan Review
- We work with you and your team, which may include your architect, general contractor, management, etc. on your secure facility’s floor plan design.
- Our role in the early stages of physical security consulting is to identify any security concerns as well as operational recommendations for your facility prior to finalizing a layout.
- This process helps detect anything that may cause additional costs or issues down the road. For example: Is there an IT room identified with sufficient space and ventilation for all head-end security equipment and IT infrastructure?
Security Floor Plan Design
- We provide a security floor plan design that includes the alarm, access control, and video surveillance systems.
- Our goal is to distinguish final locations of devices and network and security equipment, minimize cost, and provide a compliant security design.
RFP (Request for Proposal) Preparation
- When systems are being procured, it’s important to know who will be managing them, how they will be managing them, and what your expectations are from your systems. We ask questions to assist in identifying any specific needs that should be implemented within the bid process to ensure your security meets your day-to-day operational needs.
- Our RFP identifies exclusions, considerations, best practices, and expectations from the security integrator (security installer). This detailed document provides valuable information that must be considered when integrators prepare the bids for your facility.
Integrator Selection
- When choosing a security integrator for your secure facility, it is important to select a company who has previous cannabis build out experience, is knowledgeable on the local and state regulations, and will continue to provide support for you and your business. They should be considered a partner as they are protecting your investment.
- When we select the three integrators for the bid process, we identify what your ideal budget looks like, any special requests beyond regulations, and consider what each integrator specializes in to meet your specific needs.
- All of our preferred partners have been hand selected based on these criteria, and we work hard to understand you and your project in order to assist you in choosing the right integrator.
Bid Review
- Once all bids are received, our security consultants review internally to evaluate installation cost, monthly/annual monitoring and software fees, exclusions, contractual agreement, product quality and longevity of the systems.
- When reviewing bids, it’s important to identify the total cost for installation and monthly/annual fees after one year, two years and so on. For instance, clients will see a bid with a much lower installation cost, but the annual fees and contract length may be significantly higher than what was originally expected.
- Our role is to guide you in the right direction to meet your financial and operational needs regarding your security systems.
Integrator Awarding and Coordination
- Once an integrator has been selected, we schedule an introductory call between you and the integrator so you can meet the team who will be managing your security build out at the facility. They will provide all labor, installation, devices for systems, and ongoing monitoring for your system(s).
- We will continue to provide security consulting as needed in order to set you up for a successful business in the cannabis industry!
