Cannabis Conferences and Tradeshows

In-Person Cannabis Conferences in 2021

2021 has already been a huge year for cannabis, and the year is not over yet. There are still multiple cannabis conferences and tradeshows that people in the industry will not want to miss. Cannabis conferences and tradeshows are a great way for industry veterans and beginners alike to network. These events are also an excellent opportunity to make B2B connections and put products or services in front of potential customers.

After a year of cannabis industry event postponements caused by the coronavirus pandemic, everyone is excited to learn and network at the events scheduled in 2021. While these events can vary in terms of attendants, schedule, and location, it is possible that the events in 2021 will be more popular than ever.

Can’t Miss Events

MJBizCon is perhaps the biggest event in the cannabis industry. Also known as the Marijuana Business Conference and Cannabis Expo, this event attracted over 33,000 attendees in 2019 and is back again in-person later this year. MJBizCon will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from October 19-22 and will feature over 1000+ exhibitors.

The Cannabis World Congress and Business Expo, or CWCBExpo, hosts one of the largest B2B gatherings of cannabis industry professionals. This event will be held in New York City from November 4-6. This event hosts educational sessions as well as features an expo hall for businesses to display innovative new products or market their services.

Many of the largest events in the industry are held by NECANN, or New England Cannabis. NECANN is the longest running cannabis conference in the North East and has a full schedule for the rest of 2021 with expert speakers such as Sapphire’s own Tony Gallo. This year’s events include:

  • Boston, MA: September 10-12
  • Atlantic City, NJ: October 2-3
  • Portland, ME: October 16-17
  • Chicago, IL: December 4-5

The NCIA, or National Cannabis Industry Association, also holds some of the most popular events in the cannabis industry. The NCIA has three major events scheduled for the rest of this year: the Midwest Cannabis Business Conference in Detroit, MI from September 22-23, the Eastern Cannabis Business Conference in Baltimore, MA from December 7-8, and the Cannabis Business Summit and Expo in San Francisco, CA from December 15-17.

Other Conferences and Tradeshows

Cannabis industry events are becoming more common across the United States as legalization continues to spread. These conferences and trade shows may target areas with smaller cannabis markets but aid in increasing access to cannabis industry networking events across the country.

Lucky Leaf Expo is newer to hosting these events but has already established itself as a go-to cannabis expo. This year, two more expos are scheduled: one in Oklahoma City from September 2-3 and one in Houston, TX from November 5-6.

CannaCon holds multiple cannabis industry conferences throughout the year, but only has one more event scheduled for 2021. CannaCon Northeast will be held in Virginia Beach from November 19-21. This will likely be a popular event since Virginia only recently legalized recreational cannabis.

Cannabis conferences and tradeshows will likely continue to grow in popularity as the industry expands. No matter the size of the cannabis event, it is likely that cannabis business owners will make valuable industry connections and obtain industry knowledge to better set up their business for success.
